Bringing in outside $$$

One way to inject outside money into your local economy is through festivals and events that bring in out-of-towners who spend money.  This weekend, my town, Jackson, Mississippi, will host over 50,000 visitors – 2,000 of whom will actually march in the parade -  to Mal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade.  The event has a $6 million-plus impact.  Hotels are sold out.  And the proceeds go to charity.  Thank you Malcolm White.
